Gtd todoist setup12/8/2023 ![]() ![]() Here are some pictures of my todoist: Blog, Machine Learning Class, Python class, Research, work I only work on two to three projects a day. I also want to add that I don't work on every project every day. I'm taking two online classes, working full time, working in a computational biology lab after work, and I just started a blog to document the progress of my research and programming projects. I'm currently on a 34 day/6 week streak (christmas messed this up). I am a glorified event planner so my emails have a lot of moving pieces and depending on peoples responses dictates other emails that I have to write. For example the reason I did 27 tasks today is because I had like 12 different emails about different subjects to different people because everyone decided to email me back at 4:30 pm last friday. I pack smaller tasks into an hour block.ĭisclaimer: My task completion and karma is extremely hyperinflated (I completed 27 tasks today) because I make everything that I want/need to do/don't want to forget into a task no matter how small. If I know it will take me longer than an hour to finish, I split it in to two tasks. My todoist is for specific tasks that should take no more than an hour to finish. Having a long list of shit to do is extremely overwhelming, knowing that I only need to get this one thing done at 8 am is not. I used todoist for the longest time without scheduling the task with a given time and I NEVER got anything done. In todoist schedule every task depending on the project to the given block of time that I marked on my bullet journal. On sundays I develop goals for the week, usually no more than 4 goals. I also prioritize three goals, therefore if I just suck at life I at least get these done. send email to so and so, make agenda for this event, complete data cleaning homework, read this academic paper). work, research, programming) then I go into my todoist and have the specific tasks for those areas (i.e. Every night, I mark blocks of time for my different projects (i.e. My bullet journal (also minimalist, sorry pinterest) contains my weekly goals, daily goals, and hour by hour layout. I don't use tags, I don't use labels, I only use projects. I use a bullet journal, todoist, and occasionally google calendar for a calendar view (I wish todoist had this). I have my todoist start my weeks on Monday (habit from college). I keep it simple enough to manage my daily tasks everyday and weekly tasks every Sunday. I find that if I use too many apps or too many features within apps I get overwhelmed and I don't adhere.
